The Mummy is set for an April 27, 2026 release date, and plot details aren’t exactly known as of now. However, Cronin did tell The Hollywood Reporter that it would be unlike any movie featuring a Mummy that fans may have seen, and he’s looking to dig up something “very ancient and very frightening” with the movie.
“This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before,” Cronin said. “I’m digging deep into the earth to raise something very ancient and very frightening,”
It’s important to note that this movie is not a remake or reboot of The Mummy franchise, which is owned by Universal. Nor will it have anything to do with Universal’s horror franchise. Instead, this sounds like a completely original and unique story featuring a mummy.

Immerhin gibt es nicht allzu viele Mumienfilme und etwas mehr Content kann da nicht schaden. Ich hab tatsächlich nur vier davon in meiner Sammlung. Einen alten Hammer-Film und die Fraser-Trilogie.
